Present Mission - Implementation of a Neonatal Rescue Scheme (NRS) Across Nigeria.
We have started implementing our intervention concept to address the first seven of life (F7D) at which most neonatal deaths occur. The concept operates three transitional levels – RBC, TRANSIT & RNRC – each equipped with appropriate sustainable devices and procedures that are applicable at these levels:
Rural Basic Care (RBC) Rooms: Otherwise called ‘the neorooms’, these are located at the community level where the rural or primary healthcare or maternity centres exist.
Regional Rescue Centre (RRC): Otherwise called the Regional Hub-centre, this is a standard purpose-built neonatal unit handling referral cases from the linking ‘neorooms’.

YOBE STATE

 
 In the past 5 years we have delivered our concept and operated as Consultants to the Yobe State Ministry of Health of Nigeria [absolutely at no cost] for the implementation of NRS across 6 NRS-regions of the state [Potiskum, Gaidam, Gashua, Nguru, Damaturu1 and Damaturu2, each Hub in a cluster of neorooms capturing three Local Government Areas. All civil structures across the State are ready, and the scheme is about to be rolled-out in the first two of the six zones [Potiskum and Gaidam]. This is the MOST compelling and delicate aspect of the novel project. The expected outcome would lower neonatal mortality by minimum of 60% in each region – howbeit, only if the ‘powers that be’ would spare the funds and avoid the derailment of the scheme as conceptualized. It is in the hands of Yobe people to protect my sacrifices for them and the lives of Yobe neonates through the proper actualisation of the scheme as proposed.

NIGER STATE


The Jummai Babangida Maternal & Neonatal Hospital, Minna Niger State’s established in 2017 is the only operational Hub-centre of our NRS concept. This is arguably the most effective and most advanced neonatal centre in the entire country of Nigeria.
 



RDS REDUCTION ACROSS NIGERIA: We want to reduce mortalities owing to Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome through training and installation of our non-invasive politeheartCPAP ventilators and our associated oxygen-PSS and politeblend systems.
